Current Skincare Routine

I’ve tried a lot of skincare routines, but for my current skin, this one is working very well. My skin right now, I would describe as combination skin that leans towards oily and doesn’t frequently get pimples, but has a lot of scars from previous ones. Here’s my current skincare routine:
I use face masks instead of face wash. Face washes are great, but they’re a lot of work. I used to wake up every morning and wash my face (like it is suggested that people do), but I found it harder and harder to keep up as time went on. Face masks are a two step process that doesn’t feel like it requires much energy. Although it probably helps that the ones I use smell amazing.
I always moisturize after washing my face or using a face mask. I think this step is very important. If you use exfoliating products or even just everyday products, you strip your face of its oils, some of which are needed for hydration. My favorite moisturizer that I cannot praise enough is moisture surge by Clinique. I’ve been using it for almost two years and it continues to stay amazing.
I’ve been on birth control for *x amount of time*. Birth control isn’t just for protecting against getting pregnant, it also helps regulate hormones. By regulating hormones, your body gets into a rhythm and has more balanced hormones. It really just helps all your hormones get along. Spikes or unevenness in hormones are a definite cause for acne, and by taking birth control, that’s all under control.
That’s it, I literally just use face masks, am sure to hydrate after, and have some extra help from my pal birth control and my skin is completely taken care of.
