Tips and Tricks to Surviving a General Admission Concert

Have good dinner the night before and a good breakfast the day before! By eating a good dinner and a good breakfast, you supply yourself with energy and you’ll only need a light lunch, which won’t way you down during your concert.

Hydration is so important! Drinking enough water is important enough on the daily, but it becomes very inescapably important. Between the energy you’re exerting and the heat of a million people around you, you’ll be sweating quite a bit. It’s important to replace the water you lose, but not just before you lose it; be drinking water all day.

Use a fanny pack! This one is more my own preference, but I really do suggest it. Wearing a backpack can way you down or become bulky, and in my opinion you don’t need to bring very much anyways. With a fanny pack, it’s all right in front of you and is hands free.

Bring snacks, money, and portable chargers! You could always just bring more money to buy snacks, but if you already have some at home then you might as well bring them. A good example would be almonds, they’re good for keeping your energy up and don’t require much space. Just throw some into a sandwich bag and you’re good to go. Money is important if you’re buying lunch there or planning on buying merch. The reason why you should bring a portable charger is pretty self explanatory. You’ll be on your phone while you’re standing, you’ll take videos, and it’s just smart to have a backup battery.

Arrive early! If you want a good view, you’ll want to get there early. You might not want to stay overnight or anything, but getting there 5-7 hours in advance (depending on the popularity of the artist/s) is a good idea.

Wear tank tops, shorts and sneakers! This may not be the cutest outfit, but it will keep you far more comfortable than wearing a cute shirt and jeans or a skirt and heels. You will be on your feet the whole time, so wear sneakers! I wore sneakers and my feet were still killing me.I don’t think I got feeling back in one of my toes for at least three days.

Tips/tricks

-Put glow stick juice into clear nail polish, and paint your nails for cute glow in the dark nails.

-As cute as it is to have your hair down, I really suggest keeping it up because of how hot it will be and how sweaty you’ll get. At the very least keep it out of your face.

-If you type out on notes, your name and number to contact you at (someone else’s number), then screenshot and make it your phone background, it’ll be easier for someone to return to you if you lose it or drop it in the chaos.
